Egg production and consumption have increased rapidly over the last decade, but there remains scope for significantly more expansion. Under the “business as usual” scenario, India is set to overtake the U.S. as the second largest egg producing country by 2022 based on data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). However, these days nothing is really business as usual in India.
