KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): The 'Jantung Gold' durian variety is set to be the main attraction at the Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority's (FAMA) Castle of Fruit exhibition during the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show 2018 (MAHA 2018) from Nov 22 to Dec 2 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS). FAMA chairman Ishak Ismail said the product great potential as its seeds and saplings were in high demand from entrepreneurs all over Malaysia. "The Jantung Gold durian is a new variety which has yet to be registered, and we obtained it from entrepreneurs from Kuala Kangsar with the cooperation of the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute. "We find that the new variety of durian tree with 'heart-shaped' fruits, is of very good quality and has the potential to penetrate the market, just like Durian Hitam and Musang King," he said when contacted by Bernama. Meanwhile, Kokedama or Japanese Moss Ball, which is a popular planting technique in Japan, will also be showcased at the FAMA Castle of Fruit exhibition scheduled to take place at Arrival Hall 2, MAEPS, Serdang.
